Type locality. Peru, Dept. Junin, km 39 route à Jauja. Env. Tarma, 3500–4000 m. Examined material. HT ♂ (CMa at MRSN); 16 PTT ♂ and 7 PTT ♀ (CMa, CSt). Note. Species distinguished by its robust size (11-13 mm), larger than in other Peruvian species, with the only exception of B. inca .

Distribution. Recorded from the neighboring Depts. Junin and Huancavelica (central Peru). Habitat. The altitude data reported on the labels (3,500–4,200 m a.s.l.) suggest a preference of this species for the Andean grassland.
