Type locality. Peru, 30 km S Cerro de Pasco, Dept. Junin, 4150 m.

Examined material. HT ♂ (CMa at MRSN); 4 PTT ♂ and 2 PTT ♀ (CMa, CSt) (complete TS).

Note. Blennidus curtatus is probably closely related to a few species ( B. rectangulus , B. nigritulus , etc.), all ranging in the Andes of central Peru (Depts. Pasco and Junin); they all possess a very similar morphology of aedeagus and more or less angulate hind angles of pronotum. Among these, B. curtatus is distinguished by the stumpy, short-oval shaped body and the punctate elytral striae, as well as the morphology of aedeagus.

Distribution. All the recorded specimens (legit Mateu and legit Bordon) are from Cerro de Pasco and its surroundings (Depts. Pasco and Junin).

Habitat. The data reported on the labels (over 4,000 m) indicate a preference of this species for the high altitude Andean grassland.
