Type area. Peru.
Examined material. HT ♂ (CLu at ZIRA).
Note. This species was described from a single ♂ specimen deposited in the Lutshnik Collection ( ZIRA). While Straneo (1993) was not able to examine it, we had this opportunity but unfortunately the type specimen lacks the aedeagus. In the original description Lutshnik (1927) stated the presence of two dorsal pores on the 3rd elytral interval: actually our study of the HT showed the presence of a single pore, a feature exclusively shared with two other species from Peru, B. idioderus and B. olivaceus , which also share the feature of a distinct greenish elytral lustre.
