Diagnosis. The male genitalia of this species are similar to those of H. jejuna Meyrick, 1916 , with the sacculus right angled ventroapically, but it can be distinguished by the cucullus with the ventral margin medially concave; in H. jejuna , the cucullus is straight ventrally (Clark 1958: 428, fig. 2a).

Redescription. Adult ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1‒5 ). Vertex grayish brown mixed with grayish yellow, frons grayish white. Antenna grayish brown, or grayish brown with blackish brown ring on each flagellomere. Labial palpus with first and second segments grayish brown mixed with blackish brown; second segment expanded distally; third segment grayish white, short and thin, drooping. Patagium brown; thorax dark brown on anterior 0.25, grayish white mixed with brown on posterior 0.75; tegula with anterior half dark brown, posterior half grayish white, scales grayish yellow tipped partially. Foreleg blackish brown, grayish white at middle and apex of tibia, as well as at apex of first, second and fifth tarsomeres; midleg blackish brown, grayish white at middle and apex of tibia, as well as at apex of first to third and fifth tarsomeres; hindleg grayish white, second to fifth tarsomeres dark brown except grayish white at apex.

Wingspan 6.5‒9.0 mm. Forewing ground color grayish white mixed with dark brown and yellowish brown; costa blackish brown, mixed with yellowish brown on distal 0.33, with nine pairs of strigulae: basal three pairs grayish brown, median three pairs leaden gray, distal three pairs white, striae below distal three pairs leaden gray, obliquely outward and confluent to distal 0.24 of R 5; blackish brown fascia mixed with yellowish brown, with some scales grayish yellow tipped, extending from basal 0.33 of costa outward to middle of discal cell, then obliquely inward to basal 0.33 of dorsum, indicating outer edge of basal patch; median fascia short, extending to middle of forewing, forming a subtrapezoidal blackish brown spot at middle of costa; irregular blackish brown spot beyond outer margin of discal cell; tornal spot blackish brown, with some scales grayish yellow tipped, subtriangular, extending along inner margin of ocellus to near base of CuA 1; ocellus subovate, leaden gray, with four blackish brown dashes mixed with grayish yellow, blackish brown line extending from middle of R 3 outward to R 5, then along inner margin of four blackish brown dashes, and finally obliquely inward to beyond tornal spot; cilia grayish brown mixed with blackish brown, gray near tornus, with some scales grayish white tipped, subbasal line blackish brown. Hindwing and cilia gray.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 6‒10 ): Tegumen subrectangular, obtuse on posterior margin. Socius approximately 0.33 length of tegumen, with sparse short setae. Valva with basal excavation approximately 0.25 length of valva; costa obtusely produced at about basal 0.33; sacculus approximately 0.33 length of valva, right angled ventroapically; neck distinct, approximately half maximum width of cucullus; cucullus elongate, approximately 2 times length of sacculus, elliptically expanded and hairy distally, ventral margin roundly produced and with a cluster of dense spines at about basal 0.33, concave at about middle, with a large spine set at about distal 0.33. Phallus approximately half length of valva; cornuti consisting of numerous needlelike spines.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 11‒14 ): Sternite VII with large widely divided sclerites extending along lateral side of ostium bursae to posterior 0.33, connected anteriorly below ostium bursae, rounded on posterior margin, with narrow spinulose hump on anterior margin at each side of ostium bursae. Ostium bursae situated in middle near anterior margin of sternite VII. Antrum approximately 0.66 length of ductus bursae; colliculum being a broad ring at distal 0.25 of ductus bursae; ductus bursae nearly equal length to corpus bursae. Corpus bursae ovate; two signa bladeshaped, with rounded basal plate; appendix bursae and corpus bursae equal in size; ductus seminalis originating from base of appendix bursae. Sternite VI with posterior margin sclerotized medially.

Host plant. Phyllanthus reticulatus Poir. (Phyllanthaceae) .

Distribution. China (Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Hong Kong, Yunnan), Vietnam.
