Host and locality in Australia: None (captive in Brazil).

Current name of host: Cockatiel, Nymphicus hollandicus (Kerr, 1792) ( Psittaciformes : Cacatuidae ).

Notes: These mites were probably of Australian origin, but that has not been confirmed. Albuquerque et al. (2012) recorded Psittophagus sp. on the cockatiel in Brazil, which may refer to the same species.
