Type locality: Chacabuco, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Description. Obovate, ochraceous specimens. Antennal segment III surpassing apex of head. Humeri directed laterad, in obtuse angle with anterolateral margins of pronotum. Pronotum without pale longitudinal stripe.

Male genitalia (figs. 2–4, 11, 14–16). Parameres wide distally, without black border (figs. 2, 11). Processes of dorsal rim as broad as parameres distally, bordered in black (figs. 2, 3). Proctiger trapezoidal, wider basally. Ventral rim trisinuate, slightly convex at median third (fig. 4).

Measurements (n=7). Total length 8.65 (7.94–9.00)± 0.39; head length 2.26 (2.18–2.49)±0.11, width 1.47 (1.41–1.59)± 0.06; eye width 0.29 (0.29–0.33)± 0.02; interocular distance 0.89 (0.84–0.93)± 0.03; anteocular length 1.51 (1.43–1.59)± 0.06; length of antennal segments: I - 0.35 (0.33–0.36)± 0.01; II - 0.45 (0.42–0.48)± 0.02; III - 0.61 (0.54–0.66)± 0.05; IV - 0.64 (0.60–0.69)±0.03; V - 0.75 (0.75–0.77)± 0.01; pronotal length 1.63 (1.50–1.74)± 0.09, width 4.27 (3.90–4.53)± 0.25; scutellar length 2.57 (2.40–2.70)± 0.11, width 2.11 (1.98–2.22)± 0.08; abdominal width 3.47 (3.30–3.66)± 0.12; corium length 3.74 (3.48–3.96)± 0.18.

Female genitalia (figs. 23, 26). Posterior borders of gonocoxites 8 in an obtuse angle with outer angle of laterotergites 9; sutural borders parallel. Laterotergites 9 reaching the apical sixth of laterotergites 8 (fig. 23). Gonapophyses 9 with lateral secondary thickenings posteriorly to chitinellipsen. Capsula seminalis with one short process (fig. 26).

Total length 9.69 (9.25–10.31)± 0.39; head length 2.51 (2.28–2.66)± 0.13, width 1.58 (1.50–1.65)± 0.05; eye width 0.32 (0.29–0.36)± 0.02; interocular distance 0.96 (0.90–1.01)± 0.03; anteocular length 1.63 (1.47–1.80)± 0.11; length of antennal segments: I - 0.39 (0.36–0.44)± 0.02; II - 0.50 (0.47–0.57)± 0.03; III - 0.62 (0.57–0.66)± 0.03; IV - 0.68 (0.65–0.78)± 0.05; V - 0.81 (0.78–0.89)± 0.04; pronotal length 1.77 (1.68–1.86)± 0.06, width 4.83 (4.53–5.22)± 0.22; scutellar length 2.86 (2.64––3.09)± 0.14, width 2.36 (2.22–2.46)± 0.08; abdominal width 3.93 (3.72–4.08)± 0.14; corium length 4.16 (3.99– 4.38)± 0.13.

Comments. Specimens of Poriptus filius are known only from Argentina, in the Chacoan and Parana subregions sensu Morrone (2006). The species can be easily distinguished from P. l u c t a n s and P. tobago sp. nov. by the antennal segment III surpassing apex of head and the humeri laterally directed.
