Notes. The species name is based on that of the type locality, the capital of Leoncio Prado Province in the Huánuco Region in central Peru. DNA extracted from the holotype and stored at INHS was sequenced and included in the molecular phylogenetic of Iassinae by Krishnankutty (2012), which placed Linnavuoria tingomariaensis as sister to Pachyopsis in a larger clade also comprising Selenomorphus and Scaroidana with strong branch support.
