Liophlaeothrips segnis Ananthakrishnan & Jagadish 1969: 43 View in CoL .
This species was described from 12 females and 11 males collected from an unidentified Rubiaceae View in CoL gall. Ananthakrishnan & Sen (1980) mentioned in their key that the mesopresternum is parallel sided and very broad in this species, although this was not indicated in the original description. In the holotype of L. segnis View in CoL , the mesopresternum is divided into two lateral triangles.
Specimens studied. Holotype female (macroptera), India: Goa: Londa, Rubiaceae View in CoL galls, 11.x.1968, TNA 426, NPC.
Distribution. India (Goa: Londa).
