Type material examined: Holotype ♂ [dissected prior to present study; aedeagus missing]: "1 / Mauritanie, Rgueibat Temba, Mateu, 5.2.58 Préparation microscopique / Holotype / Lithocharis mauretanicus Coiff., H. Coiffait det. 1966" ( MNHNP) . Paratype ♀: same data as holotype, but "7.3.58" ( MNHNP) .

Comment: The original description is based on a male holotype and three paratypes (one male and two females) from " Mauritania: Rgueïbat Temba" ( COIFFAIT 1966). The secondary sexual characters of the holotype are illustrated in Figs 14-16 View Figs 8-16 .
