Bactroceras sp.

Material. — One specimen (NM L 59578), part of a juvenile phragmocone, from the locality Lhotka u Berouna 49.9977650 N, 14.0993506 E); Dobrotivá Formation , upper Darriwilian Stage, Middle Ordovician; Czech Republic GoogleMaps .

Description.—The specimen is a fragment of an adapical part of a juvenile phragmocone with visible concave side of one septum. The length of the specimen is 3.5 mm. The phragmocone has a maximum diameter of 2.5 mm and expands at a very low angle (which cannot be precisely measured). The phragmocone is circular in cross-section. The septal foramina of the single visible septum is circular in cross-section, c. 0.1 mm in diameter and submarginal in position. The external surface of the shell is smooth.

Remarks. —The narrow, submarginal siphuncle indicates the specimen should be assigned to the genus Bactroceras . However, the preservation of the specimen does not permit determination to the species level.

The specimen represents the first record of Bactroceras from the late Darriwilian Dobrotivá Formation of the Prague Basin.
