TYPE LOCALITY: Iran, Persian Baluchistan, 20 mi. SW Sib, Kant (Kont), 3950ft .

DISTRIBUTION: Iranian Baluchistan ( Lay, 1967); W Pakistan ( Roberts, 1977); and S Afghanistan ( Hassinger, 1973).

COMMENTS: Subgenus Allactaga (see Pavlinov and Shenbrot, 1985). Following Corbet (1978c: 155) A. hotsoni is considered a distinct species from A. elater and A. euphratica ; see comment under A. firouzi .
