Kessler & Smith (2017c) recognized three species of Saccoloma for Bolivia including S. elegans and S. nigrescens . In a recent revision of the genus for Brazil, Schwartsburd (2022) restricted the use of both names to populations from southeastern Brazil. We here provide an updated treatment of the Bolivian species.
