Features: Length 30–56 μm, width 9.5–14 μm, striae 10–12 in 10 μm.
Description: Valves linear elliptic with constricted sided and broadly cuneate to sub-apiculate apex. Raphe eccentric, fibulae small, evenly spaced. Transapical striae distinctly punctate, interrupted by longitudinal fold.
Ecology and Distribution: A widespread marine to brackish water species, also found in freshwater. Previously reported in the plankton of Kuwait coasts ( Al-Kandari et al. 2009) and from the Shatt Al-Arab estuary ( Al-Handal 2009). Frequent in Basra corals.
