County records: Alger, Berrien, Cass, Isabella, Mackinac, St. Joseph.

Notes. Nesting biology in Florida described by Rozen (1964). More county records are suggested by the map attributed to this species in Hurd & Linsley (1980), but this map evidently pertains to Melissodes agilis due to an error, i.e. fig. 9 in that paper pertains to M. agilis whereas their fig. 10 pertains to S. obliqua . Based on the distribution of counties, it may occur throughout the state, but it is very uncommon.
