Cosmolaelaps lutegiensis (Shcherbak)

( Figures 20–25 View FIGURES 20–25 )

Hypoaspis lutegiensis Shcherbak, 1971a: 76 .

Cosmolaelaps lutegiensis .— Moreira et al., 2014: 319; Ramroodi et al., 2014: 542; Joharchi & Trach, 2019: 486.

Specimens examined. Five females, Kostanay Region, Kazakhstan, 53°18ʹN, 66°27ʹE, 5 September 2019, A.K. Issakova coll., from soil (in TSUMZ).

Remarks. Cosmolaelaps lutegiensis was described from Kiev, Ukraine ( Shcherbak, 1971a). It has been found from soil-litter of a pine forest and is now recorded from Kazakhstan for the first time, from soil. Our newly collected material agrees very well with the description given by Shcherbak (1971a). The species may be recognised primarily by the presence of 38 pairs of long setae ( Fig. 20 View FIGURES 20–25 ), all setae with a small basal protuberance ( Fig. 22 View FIGURES 20–25 ), sternal shield smooth almost throughout, except a longitudinally lateral part between iv1 and st3 faintly reticulated with curved lines ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 20–25 ), genital shield extending close to anal shield, slightly expanded laterally past level of setae st5, posterior margin rounded, surface reticulated with irregular, mostly longitudinal lines in anterior region, posteriorly with 6–7 cells enclosed behind an inverted U-shaped ridge, the distance midline between posterior margin of genital shield and anterior margin of anal shield nearly as long as anal opening ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 20–25 ), anterior edge of epistome irregularly denticulate ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 20–25 ), palp tarsal claw two-tined ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 20–25 ).
