Adscita mannii ( Lederer, 1853) View in CoL
This species is distributed from Spain and southern France across southern parts of central Europe, Italy, Balkans, Greece and Turkey ( Naumann et al. 1999). While it has a moderately limited distribution in Europe, it is one of the most common Procridinae species in Croatia. Both historical and new records are quite common ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 ) and the species can be recorded on different kind of grassland habitats across Croatia. Indeed, it is generally a very common and numerous species which can be collected in high numbers on some localities. This greatly differs from most Procridinae which were, at least during this study, collected only singularly on a given habitat. It is known to inhabit different habitats including dry meadows, rocky slopes as well as damp meadows ( Naumann et al. 1999) up to 1700 m a.s.l. ( Bertaccini & Fiumi 1999).
