Type species: Lepidozonates viciniolus Park, 2013 View in CoL .
Lepidozonates Park, 2013: 223 View in CoL . Generic characters. Head: Antenna slightly shorter than forewing length. Labial palpus with second palpomere thickened, third palpomere slender.
Thorax: Forewing slightly widened distally; dark colored, with small pale-colored spot at costal margin (costal spot) and dorsum (dorsal spot) respectively ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1‒4 ); usually with a discontinuous line running from costal to dorsal spots (subterminal line); cell closed; R 1 originating from middle of discal cell; R 2 free, R 3, R 4 +R 5 stalked, R 5 to apex or before apex; M 1 parallel to M 2; M 2 and M 3 +CuA 1+2 originating from same point, M 3, CuA 1 and CuA 2 stalked. Hindwing trapezoidal, wider than forewing; cell closed; Rs and M 1 stalked, M 2 absent, M 3 and CuA 1 stalked, CuA 2 remote from M 3 +CuA 1 at base ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 5‒7 ). Hind tibia with rough, elongate scales.
Abdomen: Abdominal segments IV–VI with specialized plumose scales on pleural membranes in the male ( Fig. 7 View FIGURES 5‒7 ); abdominal tergites with zones of spiniform setae.
Male genitalia: Uncus elongate, broad basally, narrow distally. Gnathos with median process curved, wide at base, narrowed toward pointed apex. Tegumen with anterior margin concave in broad V-shape, with a heavily sclerotized broad band along inner margin. Valva widened distally (except in L. prominens ). Juxta large, with or without posterior lobes. Aedeagus with cornuti of varied shape and size.
Female genitalia: Apophyses posteriores longer than apophyses anteriores. Ductus bursae twisted, with spines. Corpus bursae elliptical or ovate; signum elliptical or rounded, serrate along margins, with a large median groove.
Diagnosis. Lepidozonates is identical with Philharmonia Gozmány in the wing venation, but can be distinguished by the presence of the specialized plumose scales on the pleural membrane of the abdominal segments IV–VI in the male. This character is only found in Lepidozonates .
