Ellampus masalskii Semenov, 1932

(Plate 13A–D)

Ellampus (Ellampus) masalskii Semenov-Tian-Shanskij 1932: 47.

Type locality: “Turkestan occid.: prov. Maracandica (Samarkand): Katty-kurgan (A. Fedtschenko!).—Solum specimen (1 ♂) (Mus. Zool. Univers. Mosqu.)”.

Holotype (?) ♂: 5. <printed on pink label> // Катты Кургапъ [Katty Kurgan] <printed> // “ Omalus coeruleus” Rad. <handwritten by Semenov-Tian-Shanskij> // Ung. longe 4-pectinati denticulique 5° breviore subbasali <handwritten by Semenov-Tian-Shanskij> // Ell. masalskii m. [mihi] typ. un. ♂ V.19 A. Semenov-Tian-Shansky.

Remarks. In the Fedtschenko collection in ZMMU, Semenov-Tian-Shanskij (1932) described Ellampus masalskii based on a specimen which was previously identified as Omalus coeruleus ( De Geer, 1783) by Radoszkowski (1877). In Kimsey & Bohart (1991: 268) the type repository is doubtfully ZIN, but no specimen of E. masalskii is housed in ZIN.

Current status. Pseudomalus masalskii ( Semenov, 1932) (transferred to Pseudomalus Ashmead by Kimsey & Bohart 1991: 268).
