Remarks. This species was described by Schulze (1899) based in a single specimen collected in the northeastern Pacific in 1889 (33°04'18” N; 117°42'00” W, 849 m depth, RV Albatross, station 2937). A second specimen was collected in the Ichthyandr Seamount, station 6 (22°11'24” S; 81°24'36” W) in the Nazca ridge, at a depth of 360–400 m ( Tabachnick, 1990). This species has not been registered again since its description.
