Remarks. As mentioned above, this widespread species was the first to be published from Azerbaijan ( Klapálek 1923). Though the latest review of the genus suggests that species identification can be possible only on the basis of eggs ( Sivec & Stark 2002), our larvae agrees well with its recent description from the Greater Caucasus ( Zhiltzova & Cherchesova 2003), and compared with our Georgian specimens that are containing matured eggs. Our Azerbaijan specimens were caught in both large and small forest streams of different elevations.
