James 1973: 556; 1989: 104(checklist); Marsh & Price 1991: 65; Clark 1993: 350 (checklist); Putchakarn & Sonchaeng 2004: 421 (Table 1-checklist only)

Occurrence. Laccadive Islands; Sumatra, Indonesia (Indian Ocean), 2–30 m on coral, sand and rock.

Comments. This is a poorly known species from the Indian Ocean and has not been reported since Marsh and Price (1991) from Sumatra ( Fig. 23 A, B View FIGURE 23 ). Color of this species was described as “light orange bordered by bright magenta superomarginals except for the arm tips which are cream. The inferomarginals and actinal areas are paler, shading to cream at the furrow; the arm ends and madreporite are cream.”

Specimens examined. None directly examined but high resolution images [Western Australian Museum vouchers WAM Z15962 View Materials (cited as WA 76-90) and Z15963 View Materials (cited as WA 77-90) from Marsh and Price 1991 were consulted.
