Occurrence. Scottburgh (South Africa), South coast of Oman . 8–10 m.

Taxonomic notes. Ferdina sadhensis is a rarely encountered species known primarily from the locality in Oman. Images from citizen scientists in South Africa (pers. comm. Georgina Jones ) have revealed images of a species which closely corresponds to the paratype of F. sadhensis but no specimens from South Africa were examined. The individuals identified in Gosliner et al. (1996) and King & Fraser (2014) display the bare region in each interradius, identifying them as F. mena n. sp.

Material examined. Paratype: USNM E41400 View Materials ; 16 km east of Marbat , Urchin Point, Dhofar, Oman. Arabian Sea. 8–10 m; Coll. M. Morrison, 5 Jan 1990; 1 dry spec. R=4.6 to 5.0, r=1.2, (see Marsh & Campbell 1991: 217)
