Specimens examined:
Holotype: 3. South Africa, Natal, Lake Sibaya, E. Shore, Forest 27.24S 32.34E, 50 m 2.xii.1992, H. Hölzel, P. Ohm, M.W. Mansell, Collected at light ( SANC).
Paratypes: same data as holotype (3 3, CRG); same data as holotype (4 ƤƤ, SANC); South Africa, Natal, nr. Richards Bay, 28.25S 32.15E xii.1938, P. Reavell (3, SANC); S. Afr.: Zulu Coast, Sodwana Bay; 27.35S 32.39E // 23.11.1992; E-Y:2848, UV light N of camp, leg. Endrödy-Younga (3, TMSA). R.S.A., Natal, Sodwana Bay Nat. P., 20.12.1992, lg. F. Koch (3 ex., ZMB); Südafrika, 20.xi.1995, KwaZulu-Natal, Sodwana Bay N.P., 27°37’S / 32°41’E, leg. F. Koch (2 ex., ZMB).
Length: 11mm – 14.5mm (15 specimens).
Head: Black; irregularly and diffusely punctate.
Antennae: Dark reddish brown to black; not reaching base of pronotum when laid alongside; A5–A10 serrate.
Pronotum: Dark red; anterior half parallel, constricted towards base; with four slight elevations on disc and two gibbosities at base (in middle); wrinkled and with diffuse punctation; length:width ratio 1.51:1. Scutellum: Black-brown.
Elytra: Black; each elytron with a yellow lateral spot in the basal third, and yellow transverse fasciae beyond middle spanning from lateral to sutural margins; diameter of punctures larger than interstices, punctures within fasciae small, punctures elongate behind fasciae; length:width ratio 2.31:1. Legs: Dark reddish brown to black.
Lower surface: Black-brown, ultimate two or three ventrites brown. Vestiture: With golden hairs.
Distribution: South Africa.
Etymology: Named after its golden coloured hairs.
