Description. Female. Body length 3.9 mm; fore wing length 1.9 mm. Head, mesosoma and metasoma dark greenblue with metallic diffuse coppery lustre; antenna with scape yellowish-brown, pedicel and flagellum brown; all coxae and femora black with weak green and blue metallic lustre; all tibiae apically yellowish-brown and basally yellow; all tarsi yellow except last segment brown; fore wing with brownish tint, venation yellowish-brown; ovipositor sheath black. Head in dorsal view 2.3× as broad as long and 1.2× as broad as mesoscutum; in frontal view 1.2× broader than high. POL 1.6× OOL. Eye height 1.7× eye length and 3.2× as long as malar space. Distance between antennal toruli and lower margin of clypeus 0.6× distance between antennal toruli and median ocellus. Clypeus radially striate, its lower margin emarginate. Antenna with scape 0.7× as long as eye height and 1.28 as long as eye length, not reaching anterior edge of median ocellus; pedicel 2.4× as long as broad and 4.1× as long as F1; combined length of pedicel and flagellum 0.9× breadth of head; flagellum almost filiform; second anellus transverse and 1.3× as long as first anellus; F1 transverse, 0.4× as long as broad and 0.2× as long as F2, without row of dense sensilla; F2–F6 longer than broad; clava 2.6× as long as broad. Mesosoma 1.4× as long as broad. Scutellum finely reticulate, 0.9× as long as broad. Propodeum medially 0.4× as long as scutellum; median carina present only anteriorly, plicae absent; nucha short and alutaceous, 0.4× length of propodeum. Fore wing 2.6× as long as maximum width; basal cell with 1–5 hairs; speculum open; M 0.9× as long as P and 1.5× as long as S; stigma with long uncus. Metasoma lanceolate, 1.6× as long as mesosoma and head; Mt8 2.7× as long as broad and 1.05× as long as Mt7. Ovipositor sheath projecting slightly beyond apex of metasoma.

Material examined. Holotype: ♀, ISRAEL, “ Ha’Arava Valley , 9 km. SW Yahel, 03.VII.1996, M. Volkovich ”, “ HOLOTYPE Stenetra khalaimi ♀ Tselikh ” ( ZISP).

Distribution. Israel.

Etymology. The species is named in honour of the Russian entomologist, expert in Ichneumonidae (Hymenoptera) , Andrey I. Khalaim (ZISP).

Comments. This species is very similar to S. caucasica ; the differences between these species are given in the key.
