Type material examined (after the photos). Female, lectotype here designated, “ Biskra / Dr. Martin ” [printed] // “ Museum Paris / coll. A. Puton ” [printed] // “ Museum Paris / MNHN ( EH) / 16238” [printed] // “ W. Holzinger / Zeichn.Obj. 32“[printed and hand-written] // “ TYPE “ [red, printed] // “Type Issidius / rotundiceps / (Puton & / Lethierry 1887)” [red, hand-written] .

Note. Issus rotundiceps was described by Lethierry after the male from Biskra and the female from Batna, both collected by Dr. Ch. Martin ( Puton & Lethierry 1887). According to original description male is larger than female, 6 (6.7 mm according to Holzinger 2019) and 5 mm accordingly which is not typical for Fulgoroidea where females are always larger than males. Perhaps L. Lethierry misidentified the sex of the specimen from Biskra and had no male in his hands, thus the female from Biskra marked as the type specimen ( MNHN ( EH)16238) in the Museum national d’Histoire naturelle in Paris ( Holzinger 2019, fig. 1; the photos are also deposited in FLOW ( Bourgoin 2020)) is designated here as the lectotype.
