Measurements. BL = 3.1 mm, BW = 2.1 mm, HL = 0.85 mm, HW = 0.85 mm, PL = 1.5 mm, PW = 1.9 mm, EL = 2.2 mm, PYL = 0.8 mm, PYW = 0.85 mm, AL = 0.8 mm, AA = 115°, SL = 0.4 mm.

Redescription. Body (Figs 20-1A, 20-2A) rather small. Mostly glabrous, antennae, labrum and tarsi covered with short yellowish white hairs. Body color reddish to orange-brown, ridge and tubercle tops somehow translucent; head orange to reddish brown, a black spot in the middle of vertex, yellow on frons, and black on occiput; pronotum reddish to orange-brown, raised areas partly orange to red, orange near anterior margin, depressed areas black, also black at basal margin, elytra the same coloration as pronotum, also black on suture and basal margin; scutellum black; pygidium black, red on median and lateral carinae and dark red near apex.

Head (Figs 20-1D; 20-2E) nearly round, densely covered with coarse and shallow-round punctures; slightly depressed in the middle of vertex; labrum black, short and wide, triangular, twice as broad as long; eyes black.

Antennae (Figs 20-1I; 20-2C) reddish brown. Scape twice as long as broad, pedicel triangular, 3rd and 4th short and slender, 5th slightly dilated, 6–10th flat and broad, densely serrated, 11th flat and broad, narrow and acute at apex.

Pronotum (Fig. 20-1F) deeply and densely punctured, sparser on lateral portions; a low and large tubercle on the lateral portion; median disc strongly elevated, even stronger posteriorly; median longitudinal groove broad and shallow anteriorly, narrow and deep posteriorly, ridges on disc has different variations, usually with three pairs of distinguishable longitudinal ridges, median pair bordering median groove, second pair outside of the former, starting from middle to edge of disc elevation, oblique, sometimes broken or discontinuous, a pair of short oblique ridges on each side, these ridges sometimes connected transversely to form several circles. Scutellum (Fig. 20-1H) broad, posterior-lateral angles moderately extended, obtuse. Prosternum (Figs 20-1E; 20-2B) goblet-shape, apex of prosternal process rather acute, lateral projections acute.

Elytra (Fig. 20-2G) slightly rounded apically, lateral sides slightly oblique; coarsely, deeply and densely punctured, puncture intervals raised; suture teeth small, only absent at apex; basal margin weakly rugose from scutellum to near median ridge and raised, humeri strongly rugose, with a small black spot; longitudinal ridges sharp, tubercles round and distinct, with dense miniature punctures on top; sutural row consisting of four tubercles, weakly ridged between 1st and 3rd, 1st small and indistinct, 2nd round, 3rd merging with 3rd tubercle of median row into a transverse tubercle, 4th merging with 4th tubercle of median row; median row consisting of five tubercles, 1st situated near basal margin, 2nd merging with 2nd tubercle of humeral row into an oblique tubercle, 5th largest, weakly ridged between 3rd and 4th; humeral row consisting of three tubercle, 1st small, with a long and a short ridge branching upwards, two very small tubercles on each side of the longer ridge, 3rd tubercle moderate sized; lateral row consisting of two tubercles, 1st small and transverse, 2nd very small; a triangular tubercle at posterior-lateral angle, and a large tubercle consisting of several small tubercles above it. Legs (Fig. 20-1J) reddish brown, marked with black on hind femora.

Abdomen (Fig. 20-1G) shallow-roundly and densely punctured; 1st visible abdominal segment with three tubercles near lateral margins, 5th segment with a small but deep fovea in the middle. Pygidium (Figs 20-1C; 20-2F) slightly broader than long, coarsely and deep-shallowly punctured, puncture intervals raised on carinae, median longitudinal carina narrow and sharp, throughout, lateral carinae straight and punctured in the middle, slightly bending outwards on apex and base, a broad and low transverse carina connecting at one-fifth from base, interspaces of these carinae and the lateral margins moderately depressed, basal margin raised.

Aedeagus (Figs 20-3C, 20-3D, 20-3E; 20-4A; 20-4B; 20-4C) with apex of median lobe narrowed at anterior one-eighth, two sides joined into a small truncate projection, with several pubescence on each side of the apex top, and sparsely punctured on the ventral side of distal part; median orifice with middle sclerite bending inwards just above surface at one tenth of median lobe, with a notch in the middle, outline close to outer margin, lower part of outline slightly inclined towards center; inner sac globular, prominent at apex, bilobed apically, base rim slightly dilated; tegmen weakly sclerotized.

Spermatheca (Figs 20-3B; 20-2D) hook-shaped bending from one-third of apex, dilated and obtuse anteriorly, narrowed towards base, duct weakly sclerotized, with no obvious coiling. Rectal sclerites (Figs 20-3A; 20-4E) moderately sclerotized, no connection between two sclerites on ventral side, inner angle obtuse, moderately prominent at middle below, outer angle truncate.

Distribution. China (Fujian, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Guangxi, Taiwan).

Diagnosis. The species is similar to C. ferrugineus for they have nearly same red-black coloration, but the former's pronotum disc is much larger and more rounded and has also black abdominal segments on ventral side, while the latter has the relatively red abdominal segments.
