Redescription. Body (Figs 23-1A; 23-2A) robust and opaque, covered with golden-haired punctures throughout, these hairs shorter on head and on body ventral side, longer on elytra and pronotum, and very much dense on pronotum, especially on disc; antennae, tarsi and tibiae covered with short yellowish hairs. Body color black with slight piceous.

Head (Figs 23-1D; 23-2E) nearly round, slightly narrower on mouthparts, densely and shallow-roundly punctured; irregularly depressed on the upper-center of vertex; labrum yellow, rectangular, twice as broad as long; eyes black.

Antennae (Figs 23-1I; 23-2C) dark yellowish brown, inner side of scape and pedicel pale yellowish brown. Scape three times as long as broad, pedicel globular, 3rd slender, same length as pedicel, 4th slightly thicker and dilated than 3rd, 5–10th flat and broad, densely serrated, 11th piriform.

Pronotum (Fig. 23-1F) finely and densely punctured; a big sharp tubercle on each lateral portion and a small one before it; disc densely rugose, a deep declivity near anterior margin, disc strongly elevated in rhombic form, median longitudinal groove broad and shallow anteriorly, narrow and deep posteriorly, three short longitudinal ridges on each side of median groove, posterior one sharp and oblique, middle one irregularly sinuous and extending towards sides of anterior margin, anterior one sharp, very short, and a small tubercle on each side. Scutellum (Fig. 23-1H) broad, produced anteriorly, posterior-lateral angles strongly extended. Prosternum (Figs 23-1E; 23-2B) triangular, prosternal process extended.

Elytra (Fig. 23-2G) truncate apically, lateral sides strongly oblique; deeply and sparsely punctured, each puncture with a short golden hair, puncture intervals raised; humeri strongly rugose; suture teeth absent at apex; basal margin densely rugose from scutellum to median row; longitudinal ridges sharp and sinuate, tubercles sharp and distinct; sutural row forming a s-shape basally, consisting of three tubercles, 1st small, 2nd obsolete, 3rd merging 3rd tubercle of median row into a transverse tubercle, 4th merging with 4th tubercle of median row, ridges obsolete between 3rd and 4th; median row consisting of five tubercles, 1st situated near basal margin and cone-shaped, 2nd merging with 2nd tubercle of humeral row into a transverse tubercle, 5th largest and longitudinal; humeral row consisting of three tubercle, 1st small and indistinct, 2nd transverse, 3rd small; lateral row with two tubercles, 1st transverse, 2nd small; a triangular sharp tubercle at the posterior-lateral angle, with an oblique tubercles above it. Legs (Fig. 23-1J) black marked with reddish brown, front leg paler than middle and hind legs.

Abdomen (Fig. 23-1G) shallow-roundly and densely punctured, puncture intervals raised; 1st visible abdominal segment with a round tubercle near each lateral margin, 5th segment with a big round fovea in the middle. Pygidium ( Figs 3-1 View FIGURE 3 C; 23-2F) slightly broader than long, with a sharp and small projection on each lateral margin near base; coarsely and densely punctured on the apex, puncture intervals raised, sparsely and finely punctured near base, median longitudinal carina narrow and sharp on basal half, punctured and broad on apical part, lateral carinae oblique towards center on apical half, towards sides on basal half, sharp near base, punctured near apex, with a distinct transverse carina connecting at one-third from base, interspaces of these carinae and the lateral portions moderately depressed near middle, deep near outer margins, basal margin strongly raised, prominent on lateral ends.

Aedeagus (Figs 23-3C, 23-3D, 23-3E; 23-4A; 23-4B; 23-4C) with apex of median lobe strongly narrowed at almost halfway, only half as broad as middle, rounded apically, with a row of long yellow pubescence on top of each side, and sparsely punctured on the ventral side of distal part; median orifice with middle sclerite bending inwards from some distance above surface at one quarter of median lobe, truncate at top, outline close to outer margin, lower part of outline slightly inclined towards center; inner sac bilobed at apex; tegmen moderately sclerotized.

Spermatheca (Figs 23-3B; 23-4D) hook-shaped, bending from two-fifth of apex, thin and sharp anteriorly, narrowed from halfway towards base; duct weakly sclerotized, thin, for about the same length of spermatheca, then coiled 1 time, after that dilated to almost twice as before. Rectal sclerites (Figs 23-3A; 23-4E) moderately sclerotized, weakly connected between the two sclerites on ventral side, inner angle acute, dilated at middle, moderately produced at middle below, outer angle narrow and truncate.

Distribution. China (Yunnan), Vietnam.

Diagnosis. This species has a similar body shape with C. rugosus , but the former is much unique one and can be distinguished from most known Chinese Chlamisus species by the densely arranged golden hairs on pronotum.
