Measurements. BL = 4 mm, BW = 2.6 mm, HL = 1.2 mm, HW = 1.15 mm, PL = 1.6 mm, PW = 2.4 mm, EL = 2.9 mm, PYL = 1.25 mm, PYW = 1.25 mm, AL = 0.75 mm, AA = 100°, SL = 0.3 mm,

Redescription. Body (Figs 27-1A, 27-2A) robust, slightly rounded apically. General color black and opaque; head reddish brown on clypeus and vertex, black near occiput and extending to vertex. Body strongly tubercled and/or ridged, densely covered with short golden-haired punctures, puncture intervals relatively smooth and weakly rugose.

Head (Figs 27-1D; 27-2E) nearly round, slightly longer than broad, densely and finely punctured; a longitudinal depression on upper-middle of vertex; labrum black, triangular, twice as broad as long, eyes black.

Antennae (Figs 27-1I; 27-2C) reddish brown, with 1–4th segments yellowish. Scape twice as long as broad, pedicel small and globular, 3rd and 4th slender and short, same length as pedicel, 5th short and slightly dilated, 6–10th flat and broad, serrated, 11th ovate, obtuse at apex.

Pronotum (Fig. 27-1F) densely punctured; a cone-shaped tubercle on each lateral portion. Disc strongly elevated, globular, ridged; median longitudinal groove shallow, its anterior part with a pair of short longitudinal ridges, and its posterior part with a pair of sharp but small tubercles; two oblique ridges on each side, with inner one extending from apex to middle and outer one longer and round, bordering globularly elevated disc and ending at sharp tubercles. Scutellum (Fig. 27-1H) broad, produced anteriorly, posterior-lateral angles extended. Prosternum (Figs 27-1E; 27-2B) goblet-shaped, produced on each side of prosternal process.

Elytra (Fig. 27-2G) rounded apically, lateral sides oblique; covered with very coarse and deep punctures; rugose on humeri; sutural margins with small teeth; basal margin finely rugose from scutellum to median row; longitudinal ridges sharp, tubercles distinct; sutural row consisting of three tubercles, 1st obsolete, 2nd small, 3rd merging with 3rd of median row into a transverse tubercle, weakly ridged between 3rd and 4th, 4th small; median row consisting of four tubercles, 1st situated near basal margin, very sharp, weakly ridges between 1st and 2nd, 2nd merging with 2nd tubercle of humeral row into a transverse tubercle, 4th obsolete, 5th largest and longitudinal, transversely connecting with posterior-lateral angle; humeral row weakly ridged, consisting of three tubercle, 1st very weak, 3rd small; lateral row with two tubercles, 1st large, transverse, 2nd small; a sharp tubercle at the posteriorlateral angle, with two small tubercles above. Legs (Fig. 27-1J) relatively slender, tarsi reddish brown, front and mid legs with inner side of femora black, hind legs with femora and tibia black.

Abdomen (Fig. 27-1G) finely and regularly punctured, 1st visible abdominal segment with a large but low tubercle near lateral margins, 5th abdominal segment with a large round fovea in the middle, narrowed near base. Pygidium (Figs 27-1C; 27-2F) as long as broad, punctures larger but not as dense as other parts, longitudinal median carina relatively weak to lateral ones, distances between median and lateral carinae widened in posterior half and roundly curved outwards, no distinct transverse carina connecting median and lateral ones, slightly swollen on apical half between lateral carinae; basal margin bordered with raised carina, with a small projection near lateral ends.

Aedeagus (Figs 27-3C, 27-3D, 27-3E; 27-4A; 27-4B; 27-4C) with apex of median lobe slightly dilated and rounded apically, with some fine hairs on each side of the top, and densely punctured on the ventral side of distal part; median orifice with middle sclerite bending inwards from surface at one-fifth of median lobe, truncate at top, outline close to outer margin; inner sac bilobed both basally and apically; tegmen weakly sclerotized.

Spermatheca (Figs 27-3B; 27-4D) hook-shaped, bending from two-fifth of apex, sharp at apex, thicker anteriorly, narrowed from halfway towards base, then moderately dilated at base, duct moderately sclerotized, extending about twice as long as spermathecal, then bending backwards. Rectal sclerites (Figs 27-1A; 27-2E) strongly sclerotized, no connection between the two sclerites on ventral side, inner angle obtuse, extending to dorsal side, dilated at middle, middle below with a small projection, prominent at outer-upper angle, outer angle slightly acute.

Distribution. China (Yunnan).

Remarks. This species is similar to C. ruficeps by its body shape and size, but the median longitudinal groove on the pronotum is much shallower and without distinct ridges; the arrangement of tubercles on pronotum and elytra are rather different.
