Additional material examined: 1♀, Chong-an, Xing-cun, Long-du, 580–650 m, 19. V. 1960, coll. Shengqiao Jiang (IZ-CAS).

Measurements. BL = 3.7 mm, BW = 2.4 mm, HL = 1 mm, HW = 1 mm, PL = 1.4 mm, PW = 2.2 mm, EL = 2.5 mm, PYL = 1.1 mm, PYW = 1.1 mm, AL = 0.9 mm, AA = 120°, SL = 0.3 mm.

Redescription. Body (Figs 30-1A; 30-2A) moderate size and opaque. Labrum, antennae, and tarsi covered with short white hairs, elytra and pronotum with miniature-haired punctures. General color reddish black; head reddish brown, with a Y-shaped yellow spot on vertex and a transverse yellow stripe on clypeus, black on occiput and top of vertex; pronotum pitchy black, elytra reddish black, darker near suture and basal margin; scutellum black; ventral side black, sides slightly marked with dark brown; pygidium black, with raised areas reddish.

Head (Figs 30-1D; 30-2E) nearly round, finely and densely punctured, puncture intervals slightly raised, a pair of small tubercles above the yellow spot of vertex, labrum yellow, triangular, three times as broad as long, eyes brownish black.

Antennae (Figs 30-1I; 30-2C) yellowish brown, darker on apical six segments and on scape. Scape twice as long as broad, pedicel triangular, 3rd and 4th short and small, 5th slightly dilated, 6–10th flat and broad, serrated, 11th ovate.

Pronotum (Fig. 30-1F) deeply and densely punctured on disc, sparsely on lateral portion, puncture intervals sharply raised; a low tubercle on each lateral portion; disc moderately elevated, stronger posteriorly, anteriordeclivity flat, a shallow transverse depression along anterior margin, median longitudinal groove deep and throughout, side strongly but widely raised, a pair of low and short obtuse reticulated ridges on the lateral portion of disc. Scutellum (Fig. 30-1H) extremely broad, strongly produced anteriorly, posterior-lateral angles moderately extended, apex acute. Prosternum (Figs 23-1E; 30-2B) infundibular, weakly dilated in middle, prosternal process extended, somewhat broad, apex obtuse.

Elytra (Fig. 30-2G) rounded apically, lateral sides of elytra subparallel; deeply, coarsely and sparsely punctured, sparser near apex; suture teeth small and throughout; basal margin from scutellum to near median ridge densely rugose, humeri finely rugose; longitudinal ridges sharp and distinct, tubercles sharp but small; sutural row consisting of four tubercles, 1st very small and indistinct, 2nd small, 3rd merging with 3rd tubercle of median row into a transverse one, 4th small; median row consisting of four tubercles, 1st situated near basal margin, 2nd merging with 2nd tubercle of humeral row into a transverse tubercle, 4th obsolete, 5th largest, longitudinal; humeral row consisting of two tubercles, 1st obsolete, 3rd transverse; lateral row with two tubercles, 1st transverse, 2nd indistinct; a small and sharp tubercle at posterior-lateral angle, also a large tubercle consisting of several small tubercles above it. Legs (Fig. 30-1J) reddish brown on tibiae, yellow on femora and tarsi, hind femora reddish brown.

Abdomen (Fig. 30-1G) densely and shallow-roundly punctured; 1st visible abdominal segment with a low tubercle near lateral margin, 5th segment with a large ovate fovea in the middle, the fovea deeper at apex. Pygidium (Figs 30-1C; 30-2F) as long as broad, deeply and sparsely punctured, median longitudinal carina sharp and straight, lateral carinae straight and narrow, finely punctured, without transverse carina; interspaces of these carinae and the lateral portions moderately depressed, basal margin narrowly raised.

Aedeagus (Figs 30-3C, 30-3D, 30-3E; 30-4C, 30-4D, 30-4E) with median lobe gradually narrowed at apical one-third, rounded apically, with several long hairs on top of each side, and densely punctured on ventral side of distal part; median orifice with middle sclerite bending inwards beneath surface at one-fourth of median lobe, truncate at top, with a H-shaped sclerite situated behind, outline very close to outer margin; inner sac ovate, slightly wider at base, apex bilobed, rather acute on both ends; tegmen moderately sclerotized.

Spermatheca (Figs 30-3B; 30-4B) strongly hook-shaped, bending halfway, thin and acute at apex, gradually dilated towards base, widest at basal one-six, then narrowed; duct weakly sclerotized. Rectal sclerites (Figs 30-3A; 30-4A) weakly sclerotized, without connection between the two sclerites on ventral side, inner angle obtuse, with a small notch above, narrowed towards outer angle, outer angle acute on top.

Distribution. China (Fujian).

Diagnosis. This species is similar to C. capitatus by their coloration, but the former can be distinguished by much weaker tubercles and ridges on both elytra and pronotum.
