Eversmannia exornata (Eversmann)
( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 2–21 )
Material examined. 2 ♂, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, “Grushevyi Sad”, 10.VII.2010.
Distribution. Russia (S RFE: S * Sakhalin, Primorskii Krai, S Khabarovskii Krai, Amurskaya Oblast; S and SW Siberia except for Buryatia and most of Zabaikalskii Krai, middle of European Part of Russia —north up to ~ 61– 62°N in S Karelia, S Arkhangelsk Oblast, S Komi, and south to ~ 52°N in Bryanskaya Oblast, Tambovskaya Oblast and Saratovskaya Oblast), Japan (Hokkaido, Honshu), North Korea, N China (eastern Inner Mongolia: Big Chingan Mts.—BOLD sequence ID: GWOR5259-09, GBIF occurrence 1415504236), SE Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, E Belarus.
Remarks. The finding of E. exornata in Sakhalin significantly expands its distribution range to the northeast.
Literature data on the distribution of the species in China and India are strongly doubtful ( Sohn & Yen 2005). The photo of “ Epiplema exornata (Eversmann) ” in Zhu et al. (2004: 251, pl. VII: fig. 15) well corresponds to Dysaethria cretacea (Butler) , and the hostplants indicated for this species— Clerodendrum japonicum ( Lamiaceae ) and Quercus ( Fagaceae )—are doubtful for E. exornata . However, presence of E. exornata in China is quite expected at least in Heilongjiang and Jilin.
