Macaria continuaria (Eversmann) View in CoL
( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 2–21 )
Macaria continuaria View in CoL : Beljaev & Mironov 2019: 251 (Sakhalin).
Material examined. 1 ♂, Nysh, 12.VIII.2001.
Distribution. Russia (RFE: central Sakhalin; Khabarovskii Krai, Amurskaya Oblast, Primorskii Krai;?S Yakutia, S and W Siberia), N Mongolia.
Remarks. The finding of M. continuaria in Sakhalin significantly expand its distribution range to the east. This East Siberian species was found in a subzone with dominating of larch forests. The known host plants of the larvae are Larix sibirica , L. gmelinii , and Pinus pumila ( Pinaceae ), but the species occurs also on the territories lacking these trees but having Pinus sylvestris instead. Most northern habitat of a similar and, possibly, closely related species, Macaria fuscaria (Leech) , is known from near Makarov ( Beljaev 2001), about 300 km south of Nysh, in a more southern subzone of prevail dark coniferous forests with dominating of spruce.
