Remarks
Microphoxus cornutus ( Schellenberg, 1931) View in CoL is widely recorded in South America ; it has been reported from Brazil, northern and southern Argentina and southern Chile. Its presence in Uruguay is mentioned for the first time. The species burrows commonly in sediment substrates. Only one specimen associated with M. pyrifera holdfasts was found in the Beagle Channel .
