Revised description. Shell moderately large, moderately slender fusiform with high conical spire; apical angle ~33°. Protoconch not preserved. Teleoconch of ten whorls. Earliest teleoconch whorls flat-sided, rapidly becoming deeply concave mid-whorl, with tripartite sculpture; subsutural cord with small beads, mid-portion bearing axial riblets ending as large swollen beads above suture. On fifth whorl subsutural row beads become coalescent and subobsolete from seventh whorl becoming well-defined subsutural collar. Mid-whorl riblets disappear, suprasutural row of beads weakening and becoming axially elongated on last three whorls. Entire shell surface covered with delicate spiral threads that do not intersect the beads. Suture narrowly impressed, weakly and finely undulating. Last whorl ~60% of total height. Subsutural collar broad, rounded, sharply delimited. Subsutural ramp of moderate width, concave, shoulder moderately developed, delimited by weakly beaded cord, convex below. Moderately to strongly constricted at base. Siphonal fasciole indistinct. Sculpture below ramp of weak shoulder cord, three stronger beaded cords at mid-whorl, cords non-beaded below, narrowing over base, strengthening again over fasciole. Fine superficial spiral threads cover entire surface. Fine crowded growth lines make sculpture below ramp slightly scabrose. Aperture moderately narrow, pyriform; outer lip not thickened, with 8–11 lirae extending deep within. Anal sinus moderately wide and deep, asymmetrically V-shaped, with apex just below subsutural collar. Siphonal canal moderately long, moderately narrow, straight to slightly deflected to the left, shallowly notched at tip. Columella smooth, narrowly excavated in upper quarter, straight below, weakly twisted at fasciole. Columellar and parietal callus thickened, sharply delimited, forming narrow pseudumbilical chink and broad callus rim.

Discussion. This species is closely similar to ‘ Clavatula interrupta ( Brocchi, 1814) in shape and sculpture, but differs in being slightly slenderer (apical angle ~33° vs. ~40°) and on the early whorls the suprasutural row of beads in not bisected by a spiral groove. Fine spirals do cover the surface of ‘ Clavatula olgae ( Hoernes & Auinger, 1891) , but they are more superficial and do not interrupt the tubercles and ‘ C ’. olgae has strong lirae within the aperture, absent in ‘ C ’. interrupta . There are also subtle differences in the beading of the cords below the ramp on the last whorl; in ‘ C ’. interrupta all the cords are beaded, whereas in ‘ C. ’ olgae only the cords mid-whorl are distinctly beaded, those on the base and fasciole are not.

Specimens from the Serravallian of Turkey, described by Landau et al. (2013) as ‘ C. ’ olgae , lack spiral sculpture on spire whorls and their last whorl sculpture is neither that of ‘ C. ’ olgae nor ‘ C ’. interrupta . Indeed, those authors confused two distinct species described herein as ‘ C. ’ atatuerki nov. sp. and ‘ C. ’ ariejansseni nov. sp.

Paleoenvironment. Occurrences from Borský Mikuláš ( Slovakia) point to inner neritic, agitated paleoenvironments in the photic zone, characterized by soft bottom ( Švagrovský 1981a).

Distribution in Central Paratethys. Badenian (middle Miocene): Ukrainian Fore-Carpathian Basin: Dryszczów (Nadrichne) ( Ukraine) ( Friedberg 1938); Vienna Basin: Borský Mikuláš ( Slovakia) ( Švagrovský 1982); Pannonian Basin: Letkés, Szokolya?
