Ectropis Hübner View in CoL (Figs 493–500)
Ectropis is a large cosmopolitan genus with approximately 23 Australian species most of which are endemic. Species are widespread and range widely over the continent. E. excursaria is common, widespread and is polyphagous on a variety of hosts. The eggs of this species are illustrated. They bear little resemblance to those of the type species E. crepuscularia crepuscularia Denis & Schiffermüller illustrated by Salkeld (1983).
