Identification. Annual rhizomatous grass, 30–80 cm height. Leaf-blades linear-lanceolate, scattered trichomes on the abaxial surface, 5–30 cm long, 0.2–0.9 cm wide, ligulate. Identified by its erect spiciform pani- cle, 1.5–13.0 cm long, with elliptical spikelets with 4–11 bristles, 1–14 mm long.
