Type species: Septicollarina hemiechinata Zezina, 1981 a by original designation ( Zezina 1981a, p. 16).
Emended diagnosis. Shell thin, small to medium sized, transversely oval to transversely subpentagonal, biconvex, slightly to strongly unisulcate. Shell surface smooth with low spines or with faint radial lines and rare pustules. Beak short, foramen permesothyrid, deltidial plates disjunct, narrow to triangular, minute. Dental plates well developed. Pedicle collar wide, supported by a short septum. Inner hinge plates attached to long dorsal septum; no cardinal process. Loop diploform, anteriorly spinose.
