Xyleborus formosanus Browne, 1981: 131 .

Xyleborus formosae Wood, 1992: 80 (unnecessary new name for X. formosanus Browne nec Eggers) Distribution: Taiwan only. The species was described from timber imported to Japan from Taiwan ( Browne 1981). Its presence in Taiwan is now confirmed. [1]

Hosts: Unknown.

Taxonomy: The holotype ( NHML) has been examined. It has the characteristics of Cyclorhipidion Hagedorn (sensu Hulcr & Cognato 2010), and is here transferred to that genus .
