Distribution: Taiwan only. [1]

New Records: Nantou, Hui Son , ex 4.6 cm diameter log, 3.iv.2007 (R. A. Beaver) (3) .

Hosts: Undetermined tree.

Taxonomy: The species is listed by Wood and Bright (1992) in the genus Xyleborus , but it is clearly related to B. insulindicus (Eggers) and other species in the genus Beaverium Hulcr and Cognato ( Hulcr & Cognato 2009), and is here transferred to that genus. Further studies may show that it should be synonymised with one of the more widespread species in the genus.
