Biology: Browne (1961) describes the condition of attacked host material, gallery system and development of the species.
Taxonomy: Wood and Bright (1992) list Arixyleborus medius (Eggers) and A.camphorae (Eggers) as distinct species from A. rugosipes . After comparisons of the holotype of A. rugosipes (USNM) with syntypes of A. medius and A. camphorae (NHML) , we disagree, and consider them to be synonyms of A. rugosipes as originally proposed by Schedl (1952b) and Browne (1955) respectively.
