Distribution: From India and Nepal, through southeast Asia, East Malaysia. New to Taiwan. [4]

New Records: Nantou, Hui Son , 18.vi.2005 (L. Y. Liu) (1) .

Hosts: Polyphagous, recorded from angiosperm trees in 10 families.

Biology: Beeson (1961) briefly describes the biology and gallery system, noting that the species tends to aggregate its attacks on older felled timber already invaded by fungal mycelia.

Taxonomy: The species is very similar to A.lewisi , and possibly should be synonymised with it.
