Distribution: India, Indonesia (Java), Japan, Malaysia, New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan. Wood and Bright (1992) add ‘China’ and the Philippines, but we know of no published records from these countries. [4]
Hosts: A polyphagous twig borer. It has been recorded as a secondary pest of coffee ( Coffea spp. ) ( Rubiaceae ) by Browne (1968) and Le Pelley (1968).

New records: Nantou, Neimoupu , 15.vi.2004 (C. S. Lin) (1) .
Hosts: Recorded from hosts in 4 families ( Anacardiaceae , Dipterocarpaceae , Moraceae , Ochnaceae ), in both twigs and the petioles of fallen leaves ( Beaver 1979a).
Taxonomy: This species should probably be considered a synonym of Dryocoetiops coffeae (Eggers) , but further studies on the genus are needed.
