(Euphorbiaceae) in Philipp. J. Sci. 23(3): 248. 1923.TYPE:— CHINA. Hainan: Fan Ta, 18 April 1922, F. A. McClure 2590 (i.e. Canton Christian College Herbarium 9148) (syntype: PNH, destroyed, A 00045975 image!, A 00045976 image!).

McClure 9148 was the only gathering cited in the protologue of the name Cleistanthus saichikii Merr. ( Merrill, 1923) . However, the collecting number on the label of the syntype specimen ( A 00045975 ) is 2590, while its herbarium number is Canton Christian College Herbarium 9148. Thus, the collecting number cited in the protologue is to be corrected.
