(Myrsinaceae) in Philipp. J. Sci. 21(4): 351. 1922. TYPE:— CHINA. Hainan: Wuzhishan, Wuzhi Shan , alt. 1200 m, 15 December 1921, F. A. McClure 1990 (i.e. Canton Christian College Herbarium 8668) (syntype: PNH, destroyed, A 00025250 image!).

Merrill (1922a) validly published the name Ardisia maclurei Merr. with only one gathering, McClure 8668, cited in the protologue. However, the collecting number on the label of the syntype specimen exists in A is 1990, while its herbarium number is Canton Christian College Herbarium 8668. Therefore, the erroneous collecting number is to be corrected.
