9. Bauhinia kwantungensis Merr.

(Fabaceae) in Lingnan Sci. J. 13(1): 29. 1934. TYPE:— CHINA. Guangdong: Imi Chau, Sai Kai, near Chek Ham , 25 June 1928, Siu Iu Nin 103 (i.e. Lingnan University Herbarium 18412) (holotype: NY 00003516 image!; isotype: A 00059766 , image!).

Merrill cited only one gathering, Sin Iu Nui 18412 ( NY), in the protologue of Bauhinia kwantungensis Merr. ( Merrill, 1934a) . However, the collector and the collecting number on the label of the holotype specimen is “Siu Iu Nin 103”, while the herbarium number is Lingnan University Herbarium 18412. Therefore, the collector and collecting number should be Siu Iu Nin 103 (i.e. Lingnan University Herbarium 18412).
