(Aquifoliaceae) in Lingnan Sci. J. 13(1): 36. 1934. TYPE:— CHINA. Guangdong: Pok Lor (i.e. Boluo), 15 January 1931, Fung Hom A-566 (i.e. Lingnan University Herbarium 18971) (holotype: NY 00022454 image!; isotype: A 00049522 image!).

The name Ilex phanerophlebia Merr. was validly published with a single gathering “ Fung Hom 18971 ” in NY cited in the protologue ( Merrill, 1934a). However, on the label of the holotype specimen, the collecting number is A-566 and the herbarium number is Lingnan University Herbarium 18971. Therefore, the erroneous collecting number in the protologue is to be corrected.
