Genus Kartinikus Attems, 1914 View in CoL
Kartinikus: Attems 1914 a: 127 View in CoL ; 1928: 342; 1950: 188; Kraus 1958: 67; Schubart 1966: 98; Krabbe 1982: 153; Hamer 1998: 40; 1999: 13.
Type species: Kartinikus australis Attems, 1914 , designated by Kraus (1958).
Diagnosis: Gonopod telocoxite with distinct lateral cone ( Fig. 50, lc), small femoral process originating at the telopodite knee behind the median lamella ( Fig. 50, fp). Telopodite of consistent width.
Remarks: Attems (1950) proposed synonymising Kartinkus with Epistreptus Silvestri, 1897 , a South American genus. This was not accepted by other taxonomists (Lawrence 1965; Schubart 1966; Hoffman 1979; Krabbe 1982).
