Diagnostic character: presence of “Y-shaped” penial sclerite attached to the median lobe of the aedeagus ( Figs. 5 C, DView FIGURE 5 A – F); no dorsal setae, and third interval of elytra with carinae.

Species: Macrelmis hayekae  and M. milleri  .

Distribution ( Fig. 6View FIGURE 6): Venezuela: Mérida ( Spangler 1997).

History of the group: This group was proposed and described in Spangler (1997) and is not modified.
