Oreonectes retrodorsalis Lan, Yang & Chen, 1995 View in CoL , Acta Zootaxon.Sin., 20(3): 370 (outlet of an underground river, at Long-li Village, Liuzhai Town, Nandan Co., Guangxi, China).
Material examined: 10 ex, KIZ 9110001–10, 26.0– 38.4 mm SL, 30.6–45.2 mm TL, from outlet of an underground river, at Long-li Village, Liuzhai Township, Nandan County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China.
Diagnosis: Head compressed; eyes present; dorsal-fin origin posterior to pelvic-fin origin; body and belly completely covered by scales; lateral line incomplete, with 3–4 pores; cephalic lateral-line system reduced, only with 2+4 infraorbital pores; caudal fin emarginated.
Distribution: Known from an outlet of an underground river at Long-li Village, Liuzhai Township, Nandan Co., Guangxi, China.
Remark: Oreonectes retrodorsalis is smaller than other species of the genus. Individuals reach maturity when the standard length reaches 30 mm.
