Ipamerica View in CoL , gen. n.

Type-species: Ipamerica auctuncus sp. n.

Diagnosis. In facies, Ipamerica is similar to some species of Ricula Heinrich. However , the former differs by having a distinct incision of the termen beneath the apex of the forewing (lacking in Ricula ) and in the reduction of the terminal row of spots (conspicuous in Ricula ).

Description. Head: As in other Grapholitini. Thorax: Venation in forewing with R5 to termen beneath apex, M3-CuA1 widely separated basally, chorda from midway between R1-R2 to base of M1; M-stem atrophied. In hindwing all veins separate, except M3-CuA1 connate. Abdomen: Male genitalia with tegumen long with slender pedunculi; uncus slender, broadening basally; socii absent; gnathos and tuba analis weakly sclerotized; valva long, slender; sacculus moderately convex with ill-defined angle; ventral incision of valva indistinct, neck broad; cucullus long, slender, densely spined, rounded caudally; aedeagus broad, tapering ventroterminally; cornuti in examined specimen presumably deciduous, but about 20 sockets present. Female unknown.

Distribution and biology. Known from Goias, Brazil. Adults were collected in September and October at an elevation of 1000 m.

Etymology. The generic name is based on the name of the type locality of the type-species of the genus, Ipameri.
