Oriental: 1) Bhutan (south), 2) China (south), 3) India, 4) Nepal (south and central), 5) Sri Lanka, 6) Vietnam ( Hoogstraal & El Kammah 1972, Phan Trong 1977, Chen et al. 2010, Geevarghese & Mishra 2011, Liyanaarachchi et al. 2015 a, Isaac et al. 2019, Petney et al. 2019, Namgyal et al. 2021, Zhao et al. 2021).

The presence of Haemaphysalis spinigera in southern Nepal is based on Hoogstraal & El Kammah (1972).

Isaac et al. (2019) allegedly found Haemaphysalis spinigera in Nigeria, but this result is treated here as a probable misidentification.
